Our organization would like to participate in the workforce development on the Gulf Coast by advertising on the local radio station.  Last year, we were able to reach 47,000 unique site visitors from around the world. However, we’re not being used by our local area employment service providers due to lack of publicity. If we provided underwritings to the local public radio station, we could get involved with the local workforce development agencies and provide our social media resources for the job hunt, as well as advocate for employers to hire veterans, persons with disabilities, exoffenders, and displaced workers.

We created useful social media tools for the job hunt.  However, they’re not being used by the community in which we live due to lack of funding for publicity. We only received $55 in our first fundraiser last year.  The founder has donated thousands of hours to create the Web site, write bi-monthly blog posts, tweet resources, file the legal documents, and run our nonprofit.  In addition, she and her husband have used their personal funds to support this nonprofit.

Help us help others use social media as a career tool! We decided to ask for a specific amount of $400 to fund our WHIL sponsorship package to air 60, 15 to 35 second spots on the local radio station.  These spots would publicize our Web site and describe our mission to help the job seekers find employment.
